Staying up to date on your products is important because it makes sure that your makeup looks and performed its best and does not cause a reaction on your skin or clog your pores.

In this blog post, we are going to discuss how to find your undertone and what shades go best with your undertone.

There are four different main undertones: Warm, cool, neutral, and olive.

A warm undertone has a yellow, peach, or golden skin undertone.

• Lighter warm undertones should go for shades such as warm-pinks and warm neutrals, and rich berries, wine and red.

• Darker warm undertones should go for orangey tones and burgundy, as well as warm bright reds.

A cool undertone has a pink, reddish, or blue undertone.

• Light cool undertones should go for muted colors, such as mauves and soft pink. Red with a blue undertone is very flattering as well.

• Deeper cool undertones should go for deeper purples, fuchsia, and poppy; anything with a blue undertone rather than warm.

A neutral undertone has a mix of warm and cool undertones.

• Neutral undertones have the freedom to wear any color that they want. They can choose to add any pop of colors and can added a golden look to the skin.

An olive undertone has a yellow/greenish undertone, which makes it more unique than the other undertones.

Just like the neutral undertone, olive undertones can also wear any color.

• Royal/rich colors look very nice on olive undertones, such as a true gold, a royal blue, or a deep burgundy.

While there are a bunch of ways to ‘determine’ your undertone such as checking your veins, that most effective way is to try a few different shades close to your skin tone and apply them on the side of your cheek, and see which one disappears into the skin and that’s the one the matches you the best.

In this post, we are going to go through the different types of foundations and figure out which one is best for you.

First, you need to decide what type of coverage you want. Foundation can be light, medium, to full coverage. The less coverage, the more it looks like skin, showing blemishes and freckles. The fuller the coverage, the less you see any imperfections on the skin.

After deciding on what coverage you want, it is time to decide what type of finish you want. There are three main finishes: matte, satin, and dewy. A matte finish contains no shine and works best with oily skin types. This can be achieved with regular foundations and also powder foundations. A satin finish is the most naturally and is supposed to look like skin. This is a good choice for normal skin types. The third finish is a dewy finish. This finish gives a hydrated, glowy look to the skin. This finish is best for dry skin. Dewy finishes tend to be found in water-based foundations.

After deciding the coverage and finish you want, you need to decide if you prefer a cream, liquid, or powder foundation. When deciding this, it is important to account for how much time you have to apply it. With creams, you can apply them quickly and they are less messy than liquid foundations. Many cream foundations are also cream to powder so they last longer and you do not have to apply powder on top. Liquid foundation is the most versatile, but it usually needs to be set with powder to make it last longer. Liquid foundations tend to look the most natural. Powder foundations are the quickest and easiest way to apply foundation. The downfalls of powder foundation are that it does not last as long and it works best with normal to oily skin types, not dry.

With all that being said, the best way to try what works best for you is to try samples of different coverages and finishes to see what you prefer.

In this post, we will be looking at the what type of eyeliner best suits your eye shape and how to easily achieve it.

For almond-shaped eyes, you can do a winged eyeliner or even just a line along the top. You can use an eye kohl to make it smoky or use a gel or liquid liner to keep it more clean and precise. With other eye shapes, the goal is to give the illusion of an almond-shaped eye.

For hooded eyes, the best way to do eyeliner is to use an eye kohl or a black eyeshadow with an angled liner brush and smoke out the upper eyeliner and lower eyeliner. Use the liner brush to stamp the eyeshadow along the lash line and then with no more product on the brush, lightly flick up the brush to smoke it out. This can also be achieved by drawing a line with the eye kohl and using a smudger brush to smoke it out.

For downturned eyes, the goal is to angle the liner upward to lift the eye. A thin line should be drawn with a liquid eyeliner and then a small wing going towards the end of the eyebrow.

For upturned eyes, line the upper lash line with a liquid or pencil eyeliner. Place the pencil eyeliner in the lower waterline as well. Be sure to avoid the inner corners and the liner should get thicker towards the outer eye.

For round eyes, line the eye with a thin line and extend the liner to elongate the eye shape. Place a pencil eyeliner in the lower lash line.

For small eyes, line the upper lid with a line that starts about 1/4th into the eye and get slightly thicker towards the outer corner of the eye. You can also make the eye appear bigger by smoking out the liner. With small eyes, you should avoid using liner in the waterline, and use a pencil eyeshadow brush to apply eyeshadow under the eye to open up the eye.
